About
DJ GEN is based in Sendai, Japan, and plays a diverse mix of old and new music with a focus on "happy hardcore," the British rave music of the 90s. He has a hard, positive sound that challenges fresh methods while maintaining traditional mannerisms, with "fun" as the top priority. He started DJing at the age of 14 and track making at 15 after watching DJ Kentaro's battle routines on TV, and was greatly influenced by the local club scene in Sendai, where he gained a lot of experience around the age of 20, as well as DJ Shimamura, Brisk, and Vinylgroover. Recordings compilation CD "HYBRID MONSTER" series, provided tracks for DJ Shimamura's "FENIX" and "MEGATROPOLIS", and released his first album "SUNSHINE IN A BAG". and released his first album "SUNSHINE IN A BAG" and other CDs. He has invited DJ Brisk and Alstorm, artists representing the UK, to Sendai for parties he organizes, and has appeared at many parties in Tokyo, including "Weekend Ravers". Currently, in addition to DJ appearances, he is working on a new EP, providing an OP theme song for a Youtube comedy show, and collaborating on mixing sound sources for overseas compilations.
