Musician, DJ, producer, radio broadcaster from Amsterdam. She constantly plays live in locations all over the world and is a resident dj in amongst others Uganda (Nyege Nyege Festival). Marcelle is a true icon of sonic experimentation. With her unmistakable three-turntable setup, she creates improbable collisions between genres, eras, and contexts: raw techno, dub, electronics, post-punk, field recordings, singeli, dancehall, animal sounds, and electronic avant-garde converge in unpredictable and radically free mixes. Active for decades in clubs, museums, radio and festivals, she has been releasing her own music on labels such as Cortizona, Jahmoni and Klangbad. Her sets don’t entertain - they provoke, delight, and teach. Her main weekly radio show is called Another Nice Mess and listeners can subscribe to it.
